I have some great news! Yesterday I was appointed Chairman of the Militia, Police, and Public Safety Committee in the Virginia House of Delegates.
After the election this past November, we expected the Democrats to attack our 2nd Amendment Rights this session. They campaigned on it, and have said it is a priority going forward. I was asked to Chair the Militia, Police and Public Safety Committee because of my outstanding record and steadfast support of the 2nd Amendment. It is going to be up to me and fellow conservatives on this Committee to stop Governor-Elect Northam and the Democrats’ attempts to interfere with our right to keep and bear arms.
In the past, I have been endorsed by the NRA, VCDL, and other pro-gun groups. In 2017, the VCDL PAC even went so far as to say, “Ben just might have the ONLY absolutely unblemished record in the GA! He is as faithful as they come!” But beyond simply getting endorsed by groups like this, I have a record of fighting, leading, and winning battles for gun rights.
A few years back, I successfully advanced legislation that repealed the fingerprint requirement for concealed carry permit holders. This year, I am carrying the “Constitutional Carry” legislation we have so badly needed in our Commonwealth for years.
Actions speak louder than words. It is easy to say you will support the 2nd Amendment when you are running for office, it is another thing altogether to actually stand up and do it. I am the only candidate in this race for Congress with an actual record supporting the 2nd Amendment – a voting record I am proud of, and will continue to build on if you choose to nominate me for Congress at the upcoming 6th District convention on May 19.
