(Lexington, VA) – Delegate Ben Cline’s statement regarding allegations of abuse at the Shenandoah Valley Juvenile Center:

“I am very concerned about the shocking allegations that have been made involving juvenile detainees at the Shenandoah Valley Juvenile Center, and I share the Governor’s position that an independent investigation into the allegations will help to ensure that the children in the facility have not been harmed and are well-treated.”

Cline represents the 24th House District, including the Cities of Lexington and Buena Vista, Bath and Rockbridge Counties, and parts of Amherst and Augusta Counties. He was elected in 2002, and re-elected to his eighth term in 2017. Cline is a member of the House Commerce and Labor Committee, the Finance Committee, and the Courts of Justice Committee. He chairs the House Militia, Police, and Public Safety Committee.
