LEXINGTON, VA – Lynchburg’s Conservative leaders announced their support for Ben Cline’s Campaign for Virginia’s 6th Congressional District today. Lynchburg City Republican Committee Chairman Brian Triplett and Lynchburg City Councilman Jeff Helgeson are joining a growing number of grassroots activists and leaders joining Cline’s effort.
“Ben Cline is a true conservative fighter. He’s one of us, having grown up here and now raising a family of his own with his wife Elizabeth in our district,” said Lynchburg City Republican Committee Chairman Brian Triplett. “He knows the challenges and struggles many of our families and small businesses face each and every day, caused by the Washington elites being more focused on helping themselves instead of the people they serve. We know Ben will be on our side because he already is, and has proven time and time again he’s ready to take on the challenges that need a fighter.”
Cline grew up in the Shenandoah Valley where he graduated from Lexington High School. He and his wife Elizabeth are raising their daughters in Rockbridge County.
“Fiscal responsibility is a critical issue for me and the people I serve. And we know Ben Cline agrees with us in that government should live with in its means. Washington has been ignoring that simple truth for far too long, and thankfully we have the ability to send Ben up there to teach them a lesson on it,” Lynchburg City Councilman Jeff Helgeson said.
Cline is a recognized conservative fighter, serving as the House Chairman of the Conservative Caucus, fighting to hold those in power accountable and to clean up bureaucratic waste and the political cronyism that grips our system.
“We are so happy with the growing level of support our campaign is already seeing. Having grown up here, Elizabeth and I want make this home for our daughters, but like many parents we know Washington is a direct threat to our way of life,” Cline added. “That has to end. When I’m elected to serve our district in Congress, I will work every day to make sure our voice is heard and to push common sense conservative ideas like tax reform, ending Obamacare so we can really fix health care, and addressing the out of control spending that will force future generations to shoulder the burdens we are creating for them today.”
